Haven't blogged in a while, but since we're in India now and I can't get off, I have some time!
This cruise started off with a day in Phuket, Thailand! Went out with some friends and got lunch. Green curry chicken and rice! Then we went on an adventure at got mopeds. I attempted to drive one, with not so much success, so I ended up riding with a friend. We drove to a waterfall. Not a big one, but pretty! We climes up a bit and got some great pics. Afterwards we headed back to the ship.
Our next stop was Colombo, Sri Lanka. A few of us were going to go to the tea plantation, but when we found out it was a 2hr taxi ride away we decided it wasn't worth it. I ended up going out with Diana. We found a Tuk Tuk, which is basically a moped with a car built around it so people can sit in the back, and he took us around to a few of the temples. They're gorgeous! The intricate decor and the Buddhas were very moving and wonderful to see. One of the temples we visited was built around a giant tree that they believe to have healing powers. In the temple you're required to remove your shoes, and cover your knees, they have skirts at the door for those with shorter shorts.
We ended our day by getting food at the mall. We both went with more local food...though there was a Pizza Hut and a Dominoes in the food court! Lunch cost us each about $4. We also went to the supermarket in the mall and picked up some snacks for this week. I found Mt. Dew! That made me super happy, I didn't think I was going to be able to have that till I got home.
So now that I've been fully doing my job for over a week I figured I should explain exactly what I do.
The Production Manager A is in charge of everything that happens in the theatre. I am in charge of everything that happens in the lounges. My day starts with me checking emails, then I take a walk around the ship to make sure everything is struck from the previous night. Throughout the day I continue to walk around the lounges and make sure set ups are happening when they're supposed to. I also spend about an hour and a half a day making the schedule for the next day. Sometimes I do spots for the shows in the theatre at night if we don't have enough people. I end my day in Reflections, the largest lounge, with whatever main event is happening that night.
I have another post almost ready to go, but I will wait to post it!
Love to all!
